CLUB RULES

Court usage and booking

Members are advised to book the courts before play to avoid disappointment. The courts may be
booked in half hour intervals up to eight days in advance.

The normal maximum booking time for the main court is 90 minutes. However, members playing
doubles may book an additional half hour, i.e. two hours in total. Play may continue after these
times, but only if no-one is waiting to play. For the mini court, the suggested maximum booking
time is one hour.

If members find that they are going to be unable to use a court they have booked, the booking
should be cancelled without delay and if possible no less than 24 hours before the booking was due
to start to give other members a chance to use the court.

Any booking that has not been taken up within ten minutes of its start time will be null and void.
The booking may then be cancelled and the court may be booked and/or used by others for the
remaining time of the booking.

Please see the COVID-19 page for additional guidance on using the courts during lockdown.

Hours of Play

Play must cease by 10.00 p.m.

Children

It is recommended that children under the age of 13 should be supervised when using club facilities.

Guests

Each member may introduce up to three guests in any seven day period but no guest may play more
than five times per season. The charge per guest per day is £3 for Adults (age 24 and over) and £2
for Juniors. Members should place any guest fees payable in an envelope together with their name
and the name(s) of the guest(s), and post this through the door of 27 Warriston Crescent.
Alternatively payment may be made direct to the club's account, sort code 80 02 33 (BoS), a/c
'Warriston Community Tennis Club', a/c no. 06001076. Special arrangements may be agreed for
members' house guests by applying to the Treasurer.

Footwear

Wearing incorrect shoes will damage the surface of the courts and materially shorten their lifespan.
Only shoes with non-marking, flat, rubber soles should be worn. Training shoes or any other form
of footwear with bars, studs or hard serrations must not be used. Black soles, or any other type of
sole that leaves marks on the courts, should be avoided.

Bowling Club

Members are asked to take particular care when retrieving balls from the bowling club. Please
apologise, and always ask the permission of any members present, particularly if the ball is lying on
the bowling green itself.

Keys

Replacement keys may be obtained from Jeremy Norfolk. Please e-mail info@wct.club. There is a
refundable deposit of £10.

General

Please help keep the courts and grounds clean and tidy and take any litter away with you.
